In the third round of municipal elections, Awami League rebels have won in Mymensingh's Ishwarganj and Gauripur municipalities and Nauka candidate has won in Bhaluka municipality.

Freedom fighter Abdus Sattar in Ishwarganj, Syed Rafiqul Islam in Gauripur and Dr. Bhaluka. Mezbah Uddin Qayyum has been elected privately. District Election Officer and Ishwarganj Municipality Returning Officer Dewan Md. Sarwar Jahan said independent candidate Abdus Sattar, an independent candidate in Ishwarganj municipality, was elected privately with 9,037 votes with the coconut tree symbol.

Habibur Rahman got 7,960 votes with his nearest rival boat symbol. Zulfiqar Ali Tipu got 262 votes with the symbol of paddy sheaf. Five candidates are contesting for the post of mayor in this municipality. Assistant Returning Officer of Gauripur Municipality Sajal Chandra Sarkar said that independent candidate Syed Rafiqul Islam was elected unofficially with 7,878 votes with coconut tree symbol.

His nearest boat symbol candidate Shafiqul Islam Hobi got 7,266 votes. Ataur Rahman Ata got 928 votes with the symbol of paddy sheaf. Despite contesting for the post of mayor, two independent candidates withdrew from the polls in support of the Awami League. Additional District Election Officer and Returning Officer for Bhaluka Municipality Jahangir Hossain said, Mezbah Uddin Qayyum was elected unofficially with 13,794 votes.

His nearest rival Alhaj Hatem Khan got 4,109 votes with the symbol of paddy. He boycotted the vote by holding a press conference at the party office around 2.30 pm, alleging irregularities against the boat candidate and his activist supporters. Three candidates contested for the post of mayor in this municipality.
