Teknaf Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Pradeep Kumar Das has applied for bail in a corruption case.

His lawyer applied for bail in the court of Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge Sheikh Ashfaqur Rahman on Wednesday. However, as the accused Pradeep did not appear before the court, the court fixed January 10 for the bail hearing.

ACC lawyer Mahmudul Haque said the ACC had regular hearings in corruption cases. So the accused was not produced in court. The accused party applied for a bail in the court. The court has fixed January 10 for the bail hearing as the accused did not appear even though he applied for bail.

Pradeep Kumar Das's lawyer Ratan Chatterjee said, "I applied to the court for Pradeep's bail." He was not present in court. Therefore, the court has fixed a new date for bail hearing.

In addition to the corruption case, OC Pradeep Major (retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan has been lodged in the Chittagong Central Jail on chargesheet.
