The 'Nineteenth Dhaka International Film Festival-2021' is starting from tomorrow. This year's event is starting with the slogan 'Aesthetic film, thoughtful audience, enlightened society'. On the occasion of Mujib's birth centenary, this year's event has been dedicated to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. A total of 226 films from 73 countries will be screened at the festival. 

The films will be screened at the Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of the Central Public Library, Poet Sufia Kamal and the main auditorium of the National Museum, Shilpakala Academy's Gallery and Dance Auditorium and Shilpakala Nandan Mancha. On this occasion, a press conference was organized at Dhaka Club yesterday. 

Festival chairman Kaiser Kamal, director Ahmed Mujtaba Jamal, supervisor Md. Hamid, festival advisor Rafiquzzaman, festival's three jury film critic Moinuddin Khaled, actress Rokeya Prachi and actor Ferdous Ahmed. As part of the festival, the 'Seventh Dhaka International Women's Filmmakers Conference' on the role of women in film will be held on January 17-18.

The conference will run daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, on the 19th of January, a day-long interactive program 'West Meets East' with local filmmakers and international filmmakers has been organized at the same venue. A special seminar has been organized on the occasion of the birth centenary of Satyajit Ray on January 20 at 4 pm. 

The seminar will be attended by Asaduzzaman Noor MP, Justice Rifat Ahmed, internationally renowned actress Sharmila Tagore, Dhritaman Chatterjee and other celebrities.
