Recently, a team of researchers from the University of Bilkent in Turkey has developed a special method called Diagnovir that can get the results of the Covid-19 test in just ten seconds.
According to the Turkish-based media Daily Sabah, the new method is completely different from the conventional polymerase chain reaction or PCR test.
If coronavirus is present in someone's body, results can be obtained using this method in just ten seconds, but for those who do not have coronavirus in their body, it will take some time to get results. Researchers working on the project said that the method will give 99 percent accurate results.
Professor Abdullah Atalar, Rector of Bilkent University, said: The National Nanotechnology Research Center of the University has been working day and night on such research. We are currently working on other technologies that are effective against Corona.
The coronavirus is a tiny particle about 150 nanometers in size," he said. At the National Nanotechnology Research Center, we have been conducting research on nanotechnology for several years. We started research in this regard after the first corona was identified in Turkey.
Senior researcher Associate Professor Buland Ortach, who worked on the project, said, “We are currently using this method in a second stage trial where the results have been positive. The whole test procedure is controlled by a type of biosensor.
One of the limitations of the PCR test currently used to identify covids is that the results obtained are not always accurate. It is also a very time consuming process. Many times you have to wait for two to three days to get the right result.
With the permission of the Turkish Health Organization, we will be able to introduce this system in Turkey in the next two months," Ortach said.
Another researcher said that the newly invented method is to take samples from the mouth instead of the nostrils. Ali Ayatach Siemon. He said: 'To complete the test, a type of pathogen detection chip will be used which will help to confirm the presence of the pathogen within a few seconds by receiving a fluorescent signal. The sample obtained from the patient will be mixed with a special solution and placed on the chip. The biosensors used in the chip will determine the result by observing the sample. Basically we will verify the existence of the virus using optical methods.
