China urges all parties to be patient in the context of strengthening the uranium enrichment of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told a news briefing on Tuesday that all sides should refrain from taking any action that could escalate tensions over the nuclear issue.
She said the Iranian nuclear issue is a very complex and sensitive issue. That is why no steps should be taken so that there is no scope for diplomatic efforts.
Chunying said the urgent need at the moment was to bring the United States back to the nuclear deal unconditionally and to lift all sanctions on Iran.
Meanwhile, Russia's Permanent Representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mikhail Ulyanov, said in a Twitter post on the news of uranium enrichment: There is nothing too dramatic about this. Iran's nuclear program is still transparent and could be tested.
We need to focus on how the nuclear deal can be fully implemented," he said.
Recently, Iran announced a new uranium enrichment of 20 levels. The European Union has called on Tehran not to compromise on the nuclear deal. The United States has said Iran's move is too much for the nuclear issue. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said this proved that Iran was trying to build a nuclear weapon.
