Bangladesh has sent a letter to Myanmar to take back the Rohingyas who took refuge in Bangladesh.

The foreign minister said a letter had been sent to Myanmar's State Council Minister Tin Soe on January 1. The letter requested the return of Rohingyas who had taken refuge in Bangladesh.
He said that the repatriation of Rohingya should start by the new year 2021, that is what Bangladesh wants. Myanmar has taken back Rohingyas in the past. Myanmar repatriated the Rohingya in 1978 and 1992. It is hoped that Myanmar will take back the Rohingyas this time as well and Myanmar will start the repatriation process within this year.
The minister said Japan, which has invested heavily in Myanmar, would also co-operate in repatriating the Rohingya. Besides, India and China are also working to return the Rohingyas. Everyone wants a lasting solution to the Rohingya crisis.
Responding to a question from reporters, he said many false propaganda was being spread in the foreign media about Bhasanchar. As many say, Bhasanchar will be washed away. But the truth is that this island has never been washed away in the past. Some people say that the Rohingyas have been taken to Bhasanchar with money. This is also a complete lie. The Rohingyas went to Bhasanchar voluntarily, they were not taken away with money.
The minister said that ambassadors and diplomats of different countries working in Dhaka are being considered to visit Bhasanchar to prevent false propaganda. Once they visit Bhasanchar, they will understand how safe the area is and how much modern facilities there are for living there. There is even a Forge network facility in Bhasanchar.
