Awami League's nominated boat symbol candidate ASM Mahbubul Alam Lipon has been elected mayor for the second time in the Hajiganj municipality election of Chandpur. He was elected unofficially with 23,657 votes.
His closest rival BNP nominee, former mayor. Abdul Mannan Khan received 11,549 votes.
Chandpur District Election Officer and Hajiganj Municipality Election Returning Officer Mohammad Tofail Hossain confirmed the matter on Saturday night.
