In the south Rafiyadi area of Chandpasha union in Babuganj upazila of Barisal, there was an incident of attack and clash between the two sides over giving less meat during the meal. The groom's uncle Azahar Mir (65) was killed in the incident.
The clashes took place on Tuesday (January 5) afternoon. 7 people were injured in the incident. Police arrested 12 people for questioning immediately after the incident. The deceased was identified as Azahar Mir, son of Ali Mir of the same area.
Barisal Metropolitan Police Airport Police Station OC Zahid-bin Alam said Sajib Mir, son of Motahar Mir of Dakshin Rafiadi village, married Runa Begum, daughter of Abul Kalam Hawladar of Kaunia Soap Factory area of Barisal city two days ago. On the same day, Runa Begum was taken from her father's house to her father-in-law's house. On Tuesday, 48 guests of the bride's party participated in the Bauvat ceremony at the groom's house. At one stage of giving less meat to the food, the people of the groom's party got into an argument with the guests of the center party and at one stage there were clashes and clashes. Azhar Mir, the groom's uncle, was killed on the spot when the two sides clashed.
He added that 12 people from the bride's side have been detained for questioning in the incident. The body was recovered and sent to the morgue. Preparations are underway to take legal action including filing a case in this incident.
