President. Abdul Hamid said, as long as Bangladesh and Bengalis exist, Bangabandhu will be the source of inspiration for all.

He said this in a message on the occasion of Bangabandhu's Homecoming Day on January 10.

The President said January 10 is the historic Homecoming Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On this day in 1972, the father of the nation returned to independent-sovereign Bangladesh after a long imprisonment of 9 months and 14 days in Pakistan. On this day, he paid deep homage to the memory of the Father of the Nation and prayed for the forgiveness of his departed soul.

The President said that although the final victory was achieved on December 16, 1971 through the armed liberation war, the victory was completed through the repatriation of the father of the nation.

He said the contribution of the father of the nation in the history of Bengali freedom struggle was incomparable. The language movement of 1952, the United Front election of 1954, the movement against the military rule of General Ayub Khan in 1958, the movement against the education commission of 1962, the six-point movement of 1966, the mass uprising of 1969, and the mass uprising of 1969. The absolute victory of the Awami League in the general election was all under his leadership.

The President said that in fact he was the dreamer of Bengalis, the embodiment of independent Bengal. Although the Awami League won an absolute majority in the historic elections of 1970, the freedom-loving people of Bengal started a non-cooperation movement under the leadership of Bangabandhu due to the reluctance of the Pakistani ruling class to hand over power. He declared independence on March 7, 1971 in a historic speech at the Racecourse Maidan.

This time the struggle is for our liberation, this time the struggle is for freedom," he said in a thunderous voice. On the night of March 25, the Pakistani aggressors started the genocide with the blueprint of the Bengali massacre 'Operation Searchlight'. In this context, in the early hours of March 26, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared the independence of Bangladesh and called upon the people of all walks of life to jump into the war of liberation. He called for the fight to continue until a final victory is achieved.

He said that after that the Pakistani junta arrested Bangabandhu from his house at Dhanmondi Road No. 32 and kept him in the then West Pakistan jail. In the absence of Bangabandhu, the war of liberation continued under his leadership. On 16 December 1971, the Bengali nation achieved a final victory.

Abdul Hamid said that on January 10, 1972, Bangabandhu became emotional as soon as he set foot on the soil of the newly independent country. Addressing the lakhs of people gathered at the then racecourse ground, Bangabandhu said, “The sadha of my life has been fulfilled today. My golden Bengal today is an independent and sovereign state ”. He was sentenced to death while in captivity in Pakistan. But Bangabandhu was steadfast and unwavering in his goal.

Bangabandhu said, “When I go to the gallows, I will say, I am Bengali, Bengali is my country, Bengali is my language. Joy Bangla ". Examples of such genuine love for the country and the people are rare in the world.

He said that by killing Bangabandhu and his family on August 15, 1975, the anti-independence forces tried to erase his ideology and undermine the independence and sovereignty of the country. But Bangabandhu and Bangladesh have become one entity today. As long as Bangladesh and Bengalis exist, Bangabandhu will be a source of inspiration for all. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the worthy daughter of Bangabandhu, Bangladesh is advancing on the highway of development at an irresistible pace.

Bangladesh is being considered as a 'role model' of global development in various sectors including education, health, agriculture, information technology, women's empowerment. If this trend of development continues, Bangladesh will become a developed and prosperous country by 2041, God willing.

The President said 2021 is a turning point in the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of the country's independence. At this juncture, everyone must make relentless efforts to build the golden Bangladesh of Bangabandhu's dream. Following the path of success in building a 'Digital Bangladesh' by 2021, the country will be able to move forward with more courage and confidence on the path of building a developed Bangladesh by 2041, this is the expectation on Bangabandhu's Homecoming Day.
