Another old woman died at Rangpur Medical College (ROMEC) Hospital after being burnt in a fire to escape the cold.
The old woman named Khejmati Begum (60) of Lalmonirhat Sadar died in the burn unit of Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Monday morning. Forty percent of his body was burned. He was admitted to the hospital a few days ago. Five people have died in the hospital so far after being burnt in the fire to escape the cold. They are all women. There are 15 more women and children under treatment.
According to the Rangpur Burn Unit, 15 people are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. 30-40 percent of their body is burnt.
Romek Hospital burn unit chief said. Abdul Hamid Palash confirmed the death of the old woman and said that 15 more people were still burnt and were undergoing treatment at the hospital.
