On the occasion of Mujib Year, 637 landless homeless families in 6 upazilas of Nilphamari are being given land with newly constructed two-room houses in the first phase. On Saturday (January 23) morning, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the land and house allotment program.

Earlier on Thursday afternoon, Deputy Commissioner Hafizur Rahman Chowdhury gave details at a press conference in the conference room of the office. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Khandaker Nahid Hasan, Additional District Magistrate Mirza Murad Hasan Beg, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Elina Akhter, Revenue Deputy Collector Belayet Hossain and Nezarat Deputy Collector Jahangir Hossain were present on the occasion.

According to sources in the RDC department of the deputy commissioner's office, 99 people in Sadar upazila, 34 people in Syedpur, 38 people in Domar, 185 people in Dimla, 141 people in Jaldhaka and 140 people in Kishoreganj upazila are on the list of landless and homeless (class A) beneficiaries.

These houses have been constructed on 1.98 acres in Sadar, 0.68 acres in Syedpur, 0.76 acres in Domar, 3.70 acres in Dimla, 2.82 acres in Jaldhaka and 2.80 acres in Kishoreganj.

Deputy Commissioner Hafizur Rahman Chowdhury said houses have been constructed for each beneficiary at a cost of Taka 1 lakh 71 thousand.

He said a database of 11,285 people in the district has been created. Of these, 637 are being given houses as gifts to the Prime Minister. On the same day, the Prime Minister will hand over houses to 40 families in Domar and 50 families in Jaldhaka under the Asrayan project.
