Saudi Arabian Ambassador Isa bin Yusuf Al-Duhailan said 55,000 Rohingya had gone to Saudi Arabia with Bangladeshi passports. The Saudi government has also given a list of those passports to Bangladesh as they are not valid or lost.

He made the remarks after a relief distribution program for Rohingyas and locals who took refuge in Bangladesh at a hotel in the capital on Sunday afternoon.

He said that Saudi Arabia is considering them as Bangladeshis as they have taken Bangladeshi passports. They need a new passport or a renewed one. In the meantime, Bangladesh is looking into the matter by forming a high level committee to solve the problem.
