A Turkish preacher convicted of sexual offenses has been sentenced by a court to 1,075 years in prison. The name of the convicted person is Adnan Oktar. In June 2018, she was arrested by Istanbul Police's Economic Crimes Branch on multiple charges, including sexual abuse of women and children, espionage and forgery. After a two-and-a-half-year trial, he was convicted and sentenced by Turkey's highest criminal court.
According to BBC sources, Adnan Oktar alias Harun Yahya, a controversial Islamic preacher in Turkey and author of various religious texts, used to speak on Islamic issues on TV. He also discussed Islamic values in various talk shows. And in the midst of all those discussions, he used to dance in front of everyone with beautiful women wearing bright make-up and short dresses. He used to caress these women again and introduce them as his 'kittens.
He also went to jail for the first time in 1990 over the issue. In 2018, he was again accused of leading criminal organizations, sexually abusing women and children, threatening people with weapons, protecting personal information, depriving people of their right to education, torture, trafficking, military espionage, fraud and deception. Police then arrested Adnan Oktar from his home in Istanbul. A total of 236 people were arrested on charges of involvement with him. 78 of them were later arrested.
Adnan also confessed to the crime during interrogation and said he had more than a thousand girlfriends. He also admits to having sex with them. The judge then sentenced him to 1,075 years in prison.
