Hisham Sharaf Abdullah, the foreign minister in Yemen's Houthi-backed National Salvation Government, has said that if the Saudi-led so-called Arab League does not lift its blockade on Yemen, it will attack the ports of the invading countries. Besides, strategic installations will also be attacked economically.
Hisham Sharaf Abdullah said the policy pursued by the Saudi alliance was to punish only the people of Yemen. None of their actions are contributing to a political solution to the Yemen crisis. He called on Martin Griffith, the UN special envoy for Yemen, to step up efforts to release oil tankers bound for Yemen.
Hisham Abdullah said the people of his country are in a serious energy crisis. He said that although Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates claim to be supporting humanitarian relief work in Yemen, they are in fact pursuing a policy that has led to a famine in Yemen.
