Two brothers are contesting for the post of councilor in Panchagarh polling station. In the Panchagarh municipal elections on December 28, his two brothers are in the fray for the post of councilor in the 6th ward.

Neighbors said he was desperate to become a councilor in the same ward, mainly because of a family dispute. A total of 6 councilor candidates including two brothers are contesting in that ward. Among them are his two brothers, the elder brother of the councilor from the 6th ward of Panchagarh municipality. Azgar Ali took part in the election with the ostrich symbol. His younger brother in the same ward. Abu Taleb is also contesting the elections with the table lamp symbol.

However, his younger brother Taleb lost to his rival Shafiqul Islam in the 2010 municipal elections as a councilor.

Abu Taleb, the younger brother, said: "I was defeated by a small margin of votes in this ward. This time I am getting a huge response from the people. I have a close relationship with the voters in my area, inshallah this time I will win. However, my elder brother has become a candidate for the post of councilor with full preparation for voting.

Md. Abu Taleb added, "I told my elder brother not to be a candidate." But he told me the opposite, in a democratic country, there are democratic rights. Anyone can be a candidate. I will also be a candidate.

Councilor candidate Azgar Ali could not be reached even after contacting his elder brother more than once.

The other candidates in the ward are - the current councilor. Shafiqul Islam (Carrot), Md. Zakir Hossain (water bottle), Md. Dinar Chowdhury (Punjabi) and Md. Mohabbat Ali (Dalim).
