Great Victory Day has been celebrated with due dignity by the Domar Upazila Administration of Nilphamari in compliance with the health rules.
The day got off to a good start with 31 artillery shells at Independence Square as soon as the sun rose on Wednesday. At first the upazila administration paid homage to the martyrs. Later, Upazila Health Complex, Thana Police, Sub-Registrar's Office, Muktijoddha Command, Domar Reporters Club, Upazila Awami League and various political and social organizations, schools and colleges paid homage.
The national flag was officially hoisted at the upazila premises at 8 am. UNO Shahina Shabnam, Upazila Parishad Chairman and General Secretary of Upazila Awami League Tofail Ahmed, Vice Chairman Abdul Malek Sarkar, Women Vice Chairman Begum Roshan Kaniz, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Mohammad Ibrahim, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Monowar Hossain, Upazila Awami League President Khairul Alam Babul, Bir Muktijoddha Nur Nabi, Bir Muktijoddha Ilias Hossain, Sub-Registrar Shirina Akhtar and other political leaders, teachers, government and private officials were present.
