Due to the Corona situation, there will be no Thirtyfirst event in Hatirjheel or any open space in the capital this time. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has given instructions to avoid public gatherings. As per the instructions, all roads entering Hatirjheel will be closed from 5 pm today.
Hatirjheel Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Rashid said five roads leading to Hatirjheel would remain closed. They have been asked not to visit Hatirjheel area in the afternoon or evening. He sought the help of local residents in this regard. To avoid any untoward incident, law and order forces will keep a close watch on various points of Hatirjheel from Thursday afternoon to night. Roads to Hatirjheel will remain closed until the morning of January 1.
There are restrictions on all types of public gatherings centering on the Thirty First Night. He requested everyone to return home after evening.
