It was seven o'clock in the morning. A young man named Yusuf Ali (25) was walking along the railway line to see the seedbed planted in the field. At this time a broken place on the railway line caught his eye. He also saw a small gap in the middle of the broken part. Yusuf Ali understands that if a train runs fast on that railway line, a big accident can happen at any time. Taking the matter seriously, Yusuf Ali quickly informed the concerned authorities of the railway on his mobile phone. This saved three trains from possible accidents.

The incident took place at Akkelpur in Joypurhat. According to eyewitnesses and railway sources, a part of the railway line adjacent to Akkelpur Naoduari ground in the upazila broke at some point on Saturday night. Yusuf Ali saw it on Sunday morning.

Witness Yusuf Ali said that when he went to see the seedbed in the field in the morning, he saw the broken part of the railway line. As soon as I informed the concerned authorities about the matter on my mobile phone, the railway people came and arranged for the trains to run safely.

Mohiuddin, the key man of the railway, said that at 7 am, a young man reported on his mobile phone that a place on the railway line had been broken. He immediately rushed to the spot with a red flag in his hand. He then hoisted the red flag from morning till 12 noon and stopped the intercity, freight and intercity trains of Titumir to help cross the broken section at a very slow speed.

Asraful Alam, head mechanic of the railway workers, said that after receiving the news, he went to the spot with some railway workers and repaired the broken part with a wooden sheet. He said the repair work will be fully completed on Monday. But now all the trains will be able to run fast and safely.

Khatija Khatun, station master of Akkelpur, said people were sent to the spot as soon as they got the news of the breakage of the railway line. They fixed that part in a quick time. Now all the trains are running safely.
