Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has apologized for denying financial irregularities. It is learned that he apologized on Thursday. He was summoned to parliament on Friday.
According to a BBC report, Shinzo Abe's office hosted a dinner party for supporters while in power. Suspicion that the cost of it was suppressed led to allegations of political funding breaches.
The former Japanese prime minister denied the allegations in a question-and-answer session in parliament last year. Later on Thursday he apologized for that lie and said that he would correct the previous mistake in the parliament.
