A fire broke out in a Syrian refugee camp in northern Lebanon on Saturday night, local time. The incident took place after a fight between local Lebanese residents and some members of a refugee camp. Qatar-based Al-Jazeera reported in a report.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said a large-scale fire had broken out at the camp in the Miniyeh area. Several people injured in the blaze have been taken to local hospitals. However, the UNHCR could not say exactly how many people were taken to the hospital.
UNHCR spokesman Khalid Kabbara told AFP the fire had spread. Because the camp is made of plastic and wood. He also said that at least 75 families live there.

Al-Jazeera's report said Lebanon's civil defense had worked to bring the fire under control. Army and police personnel have been deployed there.
