An expatriate youth has been accused of raping a woman with the promise of marriage in Chatkhil, Noakhali. After this incident, he secretly married another woman and fled.

According to local and police sources, Ripon returned to the country from Dubai last October. Ripon developed a love affair with the woman based on his previous identity. At one point, he started raping her with the promise of marriage.
In mid-November, when the woman pressured Ripon to marry, he severed ties with her. 20 days ago, Ripon got married elsewhere and fled the area. When the victim informed the locals about the matter, they advised them to seek the cooperation of the police.
The victim lodged a written complaint against Ripon at Chatkhil police station on Sunday night. The police registered the written complaint as a rape case on the same night.
Chatkhil police OC said. Anwarul Islam confirmed the truth of the incident, said the rapist. Police launched an operation on Sunday night to arrest Ripon. He fled the area with his bride. So it is too late to arrest him.
He said, however, that the accused in the rape case would not be released under any circumstances. The woman confessed to the rape was sent to Noakhali General Hospital for medical examination on Monday morning and to Noakhali Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court for a statement under Section 22.
