A woman has filed a case against the chairman of a union council named Mohammad Abdul Khaleq Sarkar (50) in Birganj of Dinajpur alleging rape in the temptation of marriage.

Md. Abdul Khaleq Sarkar is the chairman of Nijpara Union Parishad of Birganj Upazila and son of late Taslim Uddin of Saidpur Kalyani village.
Birganj Police Station OC Mohammad Abdul Matin Pradhan said the complainant had a relationship with Mohammad Abdul Khaleq Sarkar through mobile phone and social media while she was abroad. After coming to the country, physical relations are formed. At present, when he refuses to get married, the woman tactfully captures some of their intimate images and videos. On Wednesday, he himself filed a rape case with the Birganj police station. Case No. 16.
Investigating officer of the case SI Nazmul Islam said that the police have started investigation into the case and arrested the accused. The accused will be brought to justice soon.
