US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has called Russia an "enemy of the United States" in an attempt to stem the tide of his political career and to get closer to newly elected President Joe Biden.

Alexei Pushkov, a member of the Standing Committee on Intelligence Policy of the Russian Federation (Senate), the upper house of the Russian parliament, made the remarks in an interview with Interfax.

Pompeo, who will soon lose his job, has publicly sought to reconcile with Joe Biden, calling Russia an enemy. Because that's exactly what Pompeo said about Russia in his recent election campaign.

Mike Pompeo also said in a speech on Saturday that Russia is undoubtedly an enemy of the United States. He called the threat of nuclear weapons from the Russian Federation "real.

Earlier, Biden claimed in an interview with CBS during his election campaign that Russia was now a major threat to the security of the United States and its allies. He further added that external powers like Russia do not want him to win the election because they know he will take strong action against them.
