Chittagong District Police has honored and gifted 392 freedom fighters on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The reception was held at Chittagong District Police Lines Civic Center in Halishahar area on Sunday afternoon.
Chittagong Range DIG Anwar Hossain, RRF, Chittagong Commandant (SP) MA Masud, Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Chittagong District Unit Commander Sahab Uddin and Metropolitan Unit Commander Mozaffar Ahmed were present as chief guests at the function presided over by Chittagong District Superintendent of Police SM Rashidul Haque.
At the beginning of the program, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the war of liberation. After that the guests gave a hearty welcome to the heroic freedom fighters. On the occasion, 85 heroic freedom fighters of Chittagong district (including retired heroic police freedom fighters) were felicitated by giving honorary crests and honorary gifts. At the same time, crests and honorary gifts were delivered to 307 heroic freedom fighters through the Upazila Freedom Fighter Commander.
