An eighth grade student was allegedly raped in Comilla's Bra Hmanpara. A case has been registered in this regard. Police later arrested accused Abdul Hakim, 20, and sent him to jail through a Comilla court on Tuesday afternoon.

According to police and local sources, the judge used to harass the tortured student. On December 17, the student was leaving home to go to school to submit the assignment. Hakim picked him up from the road at that time. He then raped her in various places. On Monday afternoon, the accused Hakim was on his way to Comilla in a CNG-powered autorickshaw when relatives of the student and police arrested him in Harimangal Bazar area of the upazila. The student was later rescued from there.
Confirming the incident on Tuesday evening, Brahmanpara Police Station OC Kazi Nazmul Haque said the student's mother had filed a case against Hakim on Monday night alleging abduction and rape. He was arrested in that case and sent to jail through the court on Tuesday afternoon. Besides, the rescued student has given a statement under section 22 in the court.
