Police have recovered the body of a newborn boy from a drain adjacent to the Rajshahi Medical College (RAMEC) auditorium. The body was recovered around 11:30 am on Monday. The identity of the newborn could not be confirmed.
Mazharul Islam, the officer-in-charge of the city's Rajpara police station, confirmed the matter. In the morning, the locals saw the body of the newborn lying in the drain. Upon receiving the news, the police went and recovered the body. The body was taken to Rajshahi Medical College (RAMEC) Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police will collect DNA to identify.
Police are working to take legal action in this regard, said OC Mazharul Islam.
