DMP Commissioner Moha said there would be maximum security measures around the biggest Christian holiday "Christmas" and the "Thirtieth Night" of the Christian year. Shafiqul Islam. No DJ party can be organized on Thirtyfirst Night and the bars must be closed, he said.
He said this at a coordination meeting on law and order and traffic management on the occasion of Christmas and Thirtieth Night 2020 at DMP headquarters on Monday afternoon.
The DMP Commissioner wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Thirty First Night in advance and said that due to the epidemic coronavirus, ceremonies were being held in limited numbers in different countries. A Grade-4 lockdown is underway in London due to a large number of people being infected with Covid-19. Therefore, all kinds of programs are being celebrated in Bangladesh in a limited manner in accordance with the health rules.
He said maximum security would be provided in the church on the occasion of Christmas. In addition, additional surveillance and security arrangements will be made in Christian inhabited areas and institutions. It would be good for the churches to have multiple prayer services at different times depending on the area.
On the occasion of the security of Thirty First, the DMP Commissioner said that people will not be allowed to gather in open space and no party will be allowed. No space or room can be rented in the name of DJ party in the hotel. While maintaining social distance, it will be able to hold its own management in a limited number of hotels. However, no DJ will be allowed to party. Everyone should take care so that there is no extra traffic jam on the road due to the ceremony in the hotels. Thirtyfirst Night cannot be held at Dhaka University or any other educational institution.
The commissioner added that the bars will be closed from the evening of the Thirtieth Night. Shops can be kept open in accordance with social distance and proper hygiene rules. However, as usual, all fast food shops and markets will be closed after 8 pm.
The security arrangements adopted at the coordination meeting on the occasion of Christmas and Thirtyfirst Night celebrations include a sufficient number of uniformed police personnel in each church. Visitors will be allowed to enter each church through the archway. It will be searched manually with metal detector. The venue will be sweeping with Dog Squad. There will be fire tender and ambulance system for security. There will be uninterrupted power supply in the church area. No floating shops or hawkers will be allowed to sit in the church area. You cannot come to church with any kind of bag, bag, box, carton etc.
Also, at the entrance of each venue, hand-washing and hand sanitizer with soap and water, temperature measurement with thermal scanner, disinfectant auto spray machine or tunnel installation should be arranged. Masks are compulsory for all devout visitors, including the church's fathers and responsible persons. Ensuring social distance in all areas, including discouraging sick, elderly and child visitors from coming to the event, as well as ensuring one-way movement at the venue.
The meeting was attended by senior officials of the DMP, representatives of the Christian community, officials of various government intelligence agencies and representatives of various service providers.
