A mobile court has sentenced Ataur Rahman Palin, 40, to one year in prison for cutting soil from a government land in Noakhali's Dwip Upazila Hatia. He was also fined one lakh rupees and sentenced to three more months in jail for non-payment.
The incident took place at Birbiri village of Jahajmara union in the upazila on Thursday morning. The convicted Pauline Hatiyar is the son of Gias Uddin of Birbiri village in Ward 4 of Jahajmara Union.
