Do you smoke Then there may be tension with the job. India's Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren Sarkar has made it clear that smokers need to quit their habit to get a job. Only then will the job survive.

This is not the end. Employees who smoke must submit an affidavit stating that they are quitting smoking. Not just smoking. It has been reported that they will not be able to consume any kind of tobacco products.

Hemant Soren Sarkar said every office is on the list of non-tobacco areas. So in no way can you smoke in the office or in the office premises or use any other tobacco products. State government employees have been asked to submit affidavits in this regard.

The Jharkhand government's directive that this rule will also apply to all job seekers who are sitting for government job exams or have just got government jobs. This rule will be issued from April 1, 2021. A notification has been issued in this regard by the state health, education and family welfare department.

According to the notification, cigarettes, bidis, khaini, gutkha, paan masala, jorda or betel nut, hunko and e-cigarettes are among the tobacco products. The state government has issued strict guidelines that no smokeless or smoky tobacco products can be consumed.

The decision was taken at a recent meeting of the state cabinet, PTI reported. Later, after a meeting of the State Tobacco Control Coordination Committee, Chief Secretary of the state Sukhdev Singh told administrative officials that all government offices in the secretariat, police headquarters, districts and blocks should be declared tobacco-free areas. The administration started working like that. Tobacco Free Zone boards are installed in every government office.
