Sabbir, 32, who identified himself as SI of three police stations in Bogra, was handed over to the police by the mob. The incident took place at Satmatha in the city around 2 pm on Sunday. The detainee was identified as Sultan Mahmud Al Sabbir, son of Abdul Hakim of Kohli Uttarpara under Nandigram police station in Bogra district.
Bogra Sadar Outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Khorshed Alam said family trouble was going on at a man's house in Khajlal village of Kahalu upazila in Bogra. A few days ago, the SI of Kahalu police station threatened on behalf of one of the parties. He first identified himself as SI of Kahalu police station, then as SI of Joypurhat and Ashulia police stations.
Bogra Sadar Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Abul Kalam Azad said the arrested fake SI Sabbir is in the custody of Sadar Police Station.
