Corona's power has started to increase in Sylhet at the beginning of winter. The number of patients in the hospital is increasing. Patient pressure in ICU is high. Due to this the panic is also increasing. Besides, preparations are being made to deal with the second phase of corona web. Plans have been taken by the government to set up one more ICU unit.
The number of corona patients in Sylhet so far is around 15,000. So far 250 people have died.
In the last one week, 6 people have died due to corona in Sylhet. They died at the hospital. But only one died in the previous week. As a result, the number of victims and deaths due to corona is increasing in Sylhet. Corona levels may rise further in Sylhet as the winter progresses, officials said. In the last 24 hours, two patients with corona have died in Sylhet.
They are both residents of Sylhet district. Among the patients who died in Corona in the department were 187 in Sylhet district, 25 in Sunamganj, 16 in Habiganj and 22 in Moulvibazar. Another 41 corona patients were identified in Sylhet division yesterday. Of these, 29 are in Sylhet district, 4 in Sunamganj, 4 in Habiganj and 4 in Moulvibazar. According to the Department of Health, a total of 14,924 corona patients have been identified in the Sylhet division till 8 am yesterday. Of these, 8,669 are in Sylhet district, 2,484 in Sunamganj, 1,922 in Habiganj and 1,849 in Moulvibazar district. In the last 24 hours in Sylhet, 31 people have recovered from Corona.
They are all 29 from Sylhet district and 2 from Moulvibazar district. With these 31 people, a total of 13,717 people have recovered from Corona in Sylhet division till 8 am today. Of these, 7,995 are in Sylhet, 2,420 in Sunamganj, 1,579 in Habiganj and 1,723 in Moulvibazar. Till yesterday morning, 44 corona patients were admitted in different hospitals of Sylhet district. There are no patients in other district hospitals. Sylhet Corona Hospital Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital resident Dr. Sushant Kumar Mohapatra told Manabjamin yesterday afternoon that the number of critical patients in his hospital has increased in the last one week. The hospital has 16 ICU beds. Of these, patients are always admitted in 14 of them. In all, about 40 corona patients were admitted to his hospital till yesterday afternoon, he said. The number of corona cases is constantly increasing in Sylhet. Yet people do not follow the hygiene rules. The second wave of corona has already started in the country. The campaign is not going to ensure wearing masks.
The district administration has conducted raids in Sylhet city and surrounding areas in the last few days. Administration officials said they are working to ensure that masks are worn.
Legal action is being taken against those who do not follow the law. Meanwhile, the medical system in Sylhet is being further improved to deal with Corona. Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital Deputy Director. "We are not scared yet," said Himanshu Lal.
