Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Public Health City Hospital, Dr. accused of the death of a midwife due to negligence. A case has been filed against six people including Jafrullah Chowdhury.
Maternity husband SA Alam Sabuj filed the case in the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
After taking the plaintiff's statement, Judge Devdas Chandra Adhikari directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate the allegations and submit a report on January 21.
The other accused in the case are Nasrin, a doctor at Gonoswasthya Nagar Hospital, Shawkat Ali Arman, Delwar Hossain and Sebika Shankari Rani Sarkar.
In this regard, Dr. Jafrullah Chowdhury told Samakal on Tuesday night that the case was purely motivated and harassing. He resigned as chairman of the trust 15 years ago. Do not see the patient as a physician. He has been made the accused in the case based on an incident about three months ago. The case alleges that on September 24, SA Alam Sabuj's wife Nasreen Akhter was admitted to the Public Health City Hospital. But did not get good service. Nasreen Akhter's maternity husband informed the nurse Shankari Rani about the labor pains. The nurse did not care. He requested to call the doctors as the condition of the patient was critical. Later, intern doctors Shuvo and Nupur came and said, everything is fine.
It is said, then Dr. Shankari. Delwar Hossain and Dr. Nasrin called. However, they did not come. Shankari Rani forced childbirth without saline and painkillers. Nasreen Akhter died due to excessive bleeding.
The plaintiff claimed in his deposition that the hospital authorities had admitted negligence in the death of the patient. He then assured that the matter would be settled but later the plaintiff did not pay attention. When the complaint was taken to Dhanmondi police station on December 17, it was suggested to file a case in the court.
