The Prime Minister of France Boris Johnson has called a press conference on the closure of France's border with Britain. He called on the people of France not to panic over the decision. He assured that Britain was working to open the border as soon as possible. Boris Johnson said France's decision would only affect the transport of people-controlled goods. Which is only 20 percent of the total goods sent to Europe. Earlier, France announced a 48-hour border closure after a new strain of coronavirus spread in Britain. France says the move was needed after a new strain of corona was recently identified in Britain.

Already the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Irish Republic, Turkey and Canada have canceled flights with Britain.

Switzerland is also on the list. Hong Kong, on the other hand, said flights with Britain would be canceled from Monday night. Belgium has also announced that flights and trains with Britain will be closed from midnight on Sunday.

Johnson called a press conference on Downing Street to discuss the matter. Accompanying him were Grant Shaps, Britain's transport minister, and Sir Patrick Valens, chief science adviser. Boris Johnson said the government had a long-term plan to deal with the situation. Britain was already ready to solve the transport crisis. The supply of goods has been ensured in places including supermarkets where the impact of this crisis may occur. He assured that the crisis would be resolved soon. The British prime minister said he understood why other countries were concerned. However, the risk of spreading coronavirus from lorry drivers is small. He also mentioned that more than 500,000 people in Britain have received the first dose of the vaccine. He also spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Responding to a reporter's question, Boris Johnson said the lockdown had not been announced across Britain because the new type of corona was not spreading evenly everywhere. Only those areas where the level of infection is high have been brought under Tier 4 lockdown. However, Sir Patrick Valence said that the new type is actually found all over Britain. However, in some areas there is a lot of infection. Even then, he said, people should not go outside their own area to stop the infection.
