Expatriate Welfare Minister Imran Ahmed has assured that there is no reason for Bangladeshi expatriates to be worried even though some countries including Saudi Arabia and Oman have stopped flights to prevent the second wave of coronavirus. Despite receiving visas and tickets, thousands of workers were stranded abroad, but the minister said those stranded would be able to go on a priority basis once air travel resumes.

The minister was addressing a joint meeting of state-owned recruiting agency Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Limited (BOESEL) at Prabasi Kalyan Bhaban on Wednesday on the occasion of International Migrants Day. He said there was nothing to worry about stopping the flight. The way the world works, it has to work.

About three and a half lakh workers have returned to the country after losing their jobs and work abroad during the Corona period. The minister said there is an opportunity to send skilled workers. Even if half of Assad's return could send skilled workers, the flow of remittances would not be negatively affected.

Imran Ahmed said that the responsibility for the safety of women working abroad is their own. Everyone can easily cheat with women due to lack of education. At least if she can pass HSC, she will be able to take care of herself, no one will be able to fool her.

At the meeting, Benazir Ahmed MP, president of Baira, an association of private recruiting agencies, said there were various allegations of sending workers abroad. Not all allegations are completely false, most are true. These issues must be given importance. If Baira and Boycell work together, there will be a competition for good work.
