Bangladesh won one of the two friendly football matches against Nepal in Dhaka last November and drew the other.

The red-green team also improved in the rankings after winning the friendly match series. Jamal Bhuiyan rose three places from 187 to 184.

But Bangladesh could not sustain this improvement in ranking for long.

Bangladesh has dropped in the rankings after losing 5-0 to Qatar in the World Cup qualifiers on December 4.

Bangladesh's current position is 186th, down two places in the latest FIFA rankings announced on Thursday.

Qatar, which lost to Bangladesh, has improved one step. The current position of the Asian Champions is 58th from 59th place.

Belgium is at the top of the rankings as usual. There has been no change in the top ten. Brazil is at number three and Argentina at number seven.
