According to the victim women and locals, Sona Mia, 55, of Madardanga area of Khansama had been harassing her niece, who had been staying at her house for a long time, with a bad proposal. She was ashamed to tell anyone about it. After the evening of December 16, the niece's husband and her children went to a function at the nuns' house and after getting an empty house, Mama made several bad offers on the phone.
When the niece did not agree to the proposal, she hung up the phone and entered the house after performing ablution for Esha prayers. The uncle grabbed her by the back and tried to rape her. In this situation, the niece bit Mama Sona Mia's hand to protect herself. When Mama released him, his niece screamed. Mama fled when people from nearby houses heard the screams. After that, when Mama sat in the area about the matter, Mama apologized for her mistake and offered to pay a large sum of money, but her niece refused and took refuge in the law to demand Mama's trial.
Khansama Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Kamal Hossain said a complaint was lodged by the victim on Monday night. It is under investigation after receiving the complaint. However, the initial investigation has revealed the truth, he said.
