Freedom fighter and communist leader Haider Anwar Khan Juno was an example of being friendly with everyone beyond the boundaries of party affiliation. As much as he was a friend of the peasantry, he was also inflexible about political ideology and movement.

Haider Akbar Khan Rono, a presidium member of the Communist Party of Bangladesh and a Marxist theorist, said this at a memorial service for Juno at the National Press Club auditorium on Saturday. Juno was the founding president of the Revolutionary Students Union, a freedom fighter, a leftist politician, a writer and a cultural organizer.

He said Haider Anwar Khan Juno did not give up on the battlefield of 1971. The Pakistani forces accepted the defeat. During the nine months of the War of Liberation, the entire area of ​​Shibpur in Narsingdi was free from Pakistani aggression. Juno fought five battles with the Pakistani aggressors in the Shibpur area. At the end of the war of liberation, the Pakistani forces captured their camp at Narsingdi with huge arsenal.

Dr. Jafrullah Chowdhury said, "Our misfortune is that we have made the liberation war a one-sided event. If there is decentralization, the history of Juno will find a place even in one place. Which will motivate our youth to build the country. In the people's liberation movement. Once these are confirmed, real respect will be paid to Juno.

Haider Anwar Khan Juno's daughter Ananya Laboni expressed her gratitude to all those present at the puppet memorial service and said, "My father has been holding honest ideals all his life." His memorial service will be successful only when his ideals are implemented.

Haider Anwar Khan Juno died on October 29. He was a front-line leader of the then East Pakistan Students Union (Menon) in the mid-sixties. He was one of the initiators of the declaration of 'Independent Democratic East Bengal' on 21 February 1970.
