A section of scholars following his sons have claimed that Maulana Shah Ahmad Shafi, the late Amir of Hifazat-e-Islam, died unnaturally due to mental torture.

They made this demand at a press conference at the National Press Club in the capital on Tuesday. Maulana Yusuf bin Ahmad Shafi Al Madani, the eldest son of Ahmad Shafi, presented a written statement at the press conference.

In a written statement, Maulana Yusuf bin Ahmad Shafi said that three days before the death of Shah Ahmad Shafi, hellish violence and destruction had taken place in Hathazari. The world has seen the vandalism of his office room and the rooms of many teachers of Hathazari Madrasa through social media. At the last moment of his life, he was not allowed to take the necessary medicine.

He said the power supply to Shah Ahmad Shafi's room was cut off and furniture including AC-fans were vandalized. Treatment was interrupted, the oxygen mask on the face was removed. There was a delay in going to the hospital. The grandson of this old scholar was holding a broken glass around his neck and was told - ‘Sign this old man, or I will kill your grandson’ He was forced to resign with a forced signature. After all this, what to say, Allama Shafi's death has become normal?

Four demands were made at the press conference. These include revealing the mystery of Ahmed Shafi's death through judicial investigation and punishing those involved; To identify the real culprits by investigating the case filed on behalf of his family; Security for Ahmed Shafi's family members and his followers; Removing opponents from the courtyards left by Ahmed Shafi.

Also present at the press conference were Anas bin Ahmed Shafi (Anas Madani), another son of Ahmed Shafi, Mohammad Moin Uddin, the plaintiff in Ahmed Shafi's murder case and Ahmed Shafi's brother-in-law, Mufti Faizullah, former joint secretary general of Hifazat-e-Islam.
