Coronavirus infections have increased in Bhutan, prompting Prime Minister Lotte Shering to announce a new seven-day lockdown. It came into effect on Wednesday after he made the announcement on Tuesday. Earlier, Bhutan announced a 21-day lockdown in August.

In a speech to the nation on Tuesday, Prime Minister Lotte Shering said, "Although we have announced a seven-day lockdown. It will be decided whether the lockdown time will be extended next time after seeing the movement of the virus.

The Bhutanese Ministry of Health has said that the supply of vegetables and other products will continue in the country during the lockdown. In a Facebook post, the company provided the necessary information regarding the corona test, in addition to the lockdown restrictions, and the health code.

In Bhutan, 479 people have been infected with corona so far. 430 of them have recovered. No one has died in the country so far.
